About Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer (EAA)

Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer (EAA) is a thermoplastic material with exceptionally high adhesion properties. When the Melt Index (MI) is the same, increasing the Acrylic Acid (AA) content enhances transparency, toughness, cohesion, and environmental stress cracking resistance; conversely, rigidity, vapor transmission rate, and chemical resistance improve. With constant AA content, higher MI results in better adhesion and processability. It is primarily used in packaging, powder coatings, adhesives, hot-melt adhesives, sealants, aqueous solvents, and environmentally degradable materials.

Characteristics of Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer (EAA):
1. Excellent adhesion: EAA can bond to various materials including aluminum and tin metals and their oxides, glass, cellulose, wood, leather, cellophane, proteins, nylon, polyurethane, polyethylene, and EPDM rubber.
2. Wide application range: It undergoes thermal decomposition without bubble formation, recommended at temperatures between 120-160°C.
3. Easy processing: High flowability, ultra-low melting point, reduced dosage, and lower costs.

Application Areas:
1. Powder Coatings: The product can be formulated as a powder and sprayed onto surfaces such as pipes (Figure 3), steel, and non-woven fabrics for corrosion protection or bonding purposes.
2. Hot-Melt Adhesives: Used for bonding difficult-to-adhere materials; also suitable as an intermediate bonding layer for high-end garment collars.
3. Aqueous Solvents: Under appropriate reaction conditions, it dissolves in hot alkaline solutions and can be used to prepare water-based adhesives for clothing.
4. Environmental Degradation of Materials: Blended with starch-based materials, EAA produces biodegradable plastics.
Technical Specifications:
